Kahilu Theatre presents Josh Tatofi live from the Mauna Kea Beach Resort Luau Grounds next weekend.
Tatofi is an artist, composer, and producer who sings island reggae, R&B and traditional Hawaiian music. His father, Tiva Tatofi, was one of the founders of the electrifying Kapena, a group who pioneered island reggae music.
Tatofi’s debut album was recorded with Waiehu Records under the group Ekolu. His debut album gained him recognition throughout Hawaii as a Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominee for Most Promising Artist in 2011. His follow-up single, “Pua Kiele,” gained him attention in the Hawaiian music scene and he has quickly become one of the most sought after Hawaiian singers in the islands performing in Japan for multiple hula halau and being invited every year to perform at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo.
Tatofi was also a fan favorite at the 2020 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards winning Favorite Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Island Music Album of the Year, and Hawaiian Single of the Year.
Tatofi’s performance, slated 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23, can be enjoyed in-person as well as via KahiluTV.
Proof of vaccination or a negative PCR Test 72-hours prior to attending the show in-Person is required. In-Person tickets are $100 and can be purchased at www.kahilutheatre.org.
